» Dead-Zone

An area where the contents of an element is Clipped due to the Vertical or Horizontal Scrollbar being Super-imposed on its contents.

» Normalize

To force a given Html element, to behave or render in a very similar, or the same fashion, in different Browsers through a combination of CSS and/or HTML settings, which otherwise would have rendered differently in different Browsers.

» Opera Buffa

» Page

Entire Visible (i.e. Displayable) contents of a web page, which may be smaller or larger than the actual Peep-Hole (i.e. Screen).

» Peep-Hole (Screen)

The Net Area available on a given monitor for displaying a web page, as defined by the screen resolution, browser toolbars, chrome, window sizing, etc.
(This terminology was selected to avoid any confusion and/or conflicts with W3C terms "Canvas" & "Viewport".)

» Phantom of Opera

A hidden Container Block over and above the html element in hierarchy, and exclusive to Opera (at least 7.54). This block does have a Vertical Scrollbar, but not a Horizontal one.

» Priviledged Elements

Upper hierarchy Elements, which can only be used only once in a given Page. (At this point in time: August 1, 2007)
These elements are Body, Html and Phantom (at least in the case of Opera 7.54) which are can be and are manipulated at the whim of the Browsers, in many cases with the explicit blessing of W3C.

» Screen (Peep-Hole)

See Peep-Hole.

» Thickness

The space taken by the Scrollbars of a given Browser, indicating the Width of the Vertical and the Height of the Horizontal Scrollbar. This is a constant for each Browser, value of which is in Pixels.
